More blogging in 2016

I used to blog. Years ago, after my son was born in 2005 and before social media really changed our lives, I used to blog. It just so happened to coincide with the beginning of my jewelry collection in 2007 and so I was able to keep a nice chronicle of progress. Blogging was a way to share work and thoughts and proved to be a new way to connect with people from all around the world. Now, we have no shortage of ways to connect - virtually, but I miss the chronicle, the documenting, the proof of progress. I want to breathe new life into this blog. Part of me wants to make big goals and bold declarations, but instead, I will simply take one step forward at a time.

"It has been so cold that much of the river is frozen over, and yet there are also wide open sections that reveal the swiftly flowing water beneath the ice. I can't help but feel like this sometimes, when I'm processing something emotional or working through a puzzling problem. Part of me wants to completely freeze over - stop everything until things make sense, until I see clearly. But life rarely works that way. Instead, we must keep moving while feeling stuck. Much like this mighty river, where it is the movement that ultimately breaks up the ice, it is our movement that restores us. Chin up. Step forward. Here I go." January 2016
